Mothballs
Some dogs are attracted to mothballs and will try to play with them or eat them. How toxic mothballs are depends on how many are eaten and how big and healthy your dog is. They contain either naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene, which in high doses can cause hemolytic anemia or convulsions. Don't put mothballs in areas where your dog might be able to get to them, such as on the floors of closets. Call your vet if your dog has gotten into a box of mothballs.
